Nor/ma’s new store has opened on Bartók Béla Street
Nor/ma is known for its Nordic-style, long-ripened sourdough breads, Scandinavian-inspired pastries, and conscious, sustainable approach. Its mission is to turn everyday bread shopping into a communal experience, based on quality ingredients and artisanal technology. Now a new store is being added: the bakery’s Bartók Béla úti store has opened.
The well-known products are also available at the new location, including sourdough loaves, whole-grain rye bread, and six-grain baguettes. Among the pastries, you can find cardamom and cinnamon bulle, cocoa snail, pain au chocolat, cottage cheese batyu, as well as sweet and savory danish variations.
The specialty of the Bartók Béla úti shop is the expanded deli range, where many of its own products are available: blood orange marmalade, croissant praline, granola with freeze-dried raspberries or cranberries, spiced almonds and cashews, as well as crackers are also available.
The expanded, in-house produced range is made possible by the production plant opened last year and the increased capacity, so there really are no obstacles to the implementation of creative ideas.
The range not only changes with the seasons, but also adapts to the life and work processes of the sourdough bakery.
Sustainability also plays an important role in the workshop, This approach also gave us the idea for the croissant praline product, and Evelina Arnóczki, head confectioner, shared her workshop secrets with us:
“When I was a child, we followed the principle of using everything from tail to ear, and this approach has become part of my personality. Reusing leftovers is close to my heart and an important part of my work. In sourdough bakeries, it happens that there are more puff pastries left over, and we give croissants a new life in the form of pralines.
We cut the cookies into small pieces, dry them in the oven, mix them with caramelized sugar, and then enrich them with white chocolate, caramel chocolate, and nut praline. This way we get a sweet, soft cream that is similar to biscuit creams. It is already known in America and England, but even less so in Hungary, but we are happy to show it to our customers.”
The offer also includes Casino Mocca Black Collaborative Coffee, which can be found in the grinder and on the shelves. You can also choose from Lees Brothers’ natural wines.
Bartók Béla út has long been an important location for the team:
“We had a great desire to have a store in Bartók. We have been watching this area for a long time and would like to become part of the local community. We believe that a bakery is not only about bread, but also about meetings and everyday presence.”
– said András Gerzsenyi, one of the owners.
The team has many ideas and plans: they will continue to count on customer feedback and wishes in the future, and will continue to shape the offering based on these. The new store is not only a new address, but also a continuously evolving community space in Bartók.
