The 45th Travel Exhibition and 31st Budapest Boat Show have opened
The 45th Travel Exhibition and 31st Budapest Boat Show opened at the Hungexpo Budapest Exhibition and Congress Center on Thursday; at the opening, the president of the Hungarian Tourism Association Foundation emphasized that even though the world is facing new and new challenges, tourism is an industry of peace even in the midst of difficulties.
Péter Princzinger reminded us that at the time of the previous exhibition, no one could have known that global uncertainties would not disappear even after a year. Despite this, there are encouraging results: the president, as the domestic guest of honor of the exhibition, as a representative of BalatonBIKE365, highlighted that almost 9 million guest nights were already spent at Balaton in 2022, so the area’s guest traffic has returned to the pre-epidemic level.
He also emphasized that the lake and its surroundings are no longer just a summer bathing spot, they await travelers all year round with an extremely diverse gastronomic offer, high-quality accommodation, and an advanced cycling infrastructure. The cultural guest of honor this year is the Liget Budapest Project, which, according to CEO Benedek Gyorgyevics, can be so special to the Hungarian capital that it will be worth traveling here from faraway parts of the world. It was an old debt to create attractions that would define the image of the settlement for decades or even longer – the head of the Liget Project referred to the recently completed and soon-to-be-started state developments.
