KKV Park opens in the Southern Economic Zone of Debrecen
Small and medium-sized enterprises will soon be able to use the SME Park in Debrecen’s Southern Economic Zone, the first phase of which was supported by the government with HUF two billion.
Richard Szabados, the Secretary of State responsible for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises at the Ministry of National Economy, called the facility for the establishment of small and medium-sized enterprises exemplary nationally as well, during his briefing on the site on Friday.
The state secretary put it this way: “one calms down when he sees this spectacular development, since this is the future, this must be realized elsewhere”. He emphasized that the SME sector will be the engine of development in the future, to which the Southern Economic Zone of Debrecen will make a major contribution. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of cooperation with other settlements.
The Hungarian state contributed HUF two billion to the establishment of the SME Park
– he reminded.
Richárd Szabados said that the Hungarian government wants to achieve economic growth of at least 3 percent next year, for which infrastructure development is essential. This was implemented here in an exemplary manner – he added.
According to mayor László Papp, the SME Park will be implemented on 14 hectares in the 710-hectare Southern Economic Zone. The first phase of the SME Park was launched two years ago. The contracts were concluded in 2022, when the tender was opened, it was filled with applicants for the project within 24 hours, he recalled.
László Papp explained: 16 companies have bought investment areas, 11 manufacturers, 1 logistics and 4 are planning to carry out industrial service activities here. In the first phase, the 16 companies will invest nearly HUF 13.2 billion, resulting in the creation of 256 jobs.
