The local government of Sátoraljaújhely would save the Zemplén-Hús Kft.

The company has ceased production earlier this year after having many serious marketing difficulties for years, due to the current market conditions and due to the national crisis of
the meat industry.

Szamosvölgyi Péter (Fidesz-KDNP), Mayor of Sátoraljaújhely told at press conference on Tuesday that the company's real estate and the plant’s equipments meet all the required criterias so production can be restarted at any time.

However, the owner of the ltd. needs to sell the property, and needs to find a professional investor who buys it. Therefore the Mayor is negotiating with the larger animal breeders of the region. (MTI)
