Magna’s Vecsés plant has started production
Magna International Inc. is a Canadian-based company with a history of over 65 years, which has now become one of the world’s largest and most innovative automotive suppliers and mobility technology companies.
The company is present in 30 countries, with 351 production units, 103 development and distribution centers, and more than 174,000 employees, with a startup-type organizational structure. It has become an increasingly dominant player in Hungary in recent years.
A leading global player in mobility technologies, Magna International Inc.’s Hungarian subsidiary, Magna Body & Chassis Kft., officially started production at its new, modern Vecsés plant on November 7, 2025. The new factory will initially create 240, and later 300 new jobs, and will provide a significant boost to the development of the local economy. The investment is a milestone in Magna’s presence in Hungary, as it opens a new dimension in the company’s domestic activities and strengthens the international position of the Hungarian automotive industry. The plant is a strategic expansion of Magna’s European manufacturing network, which, in addition to enhancing regional competitiveness, also supports the development of sustainable mobility solutions. The ceremonial launch of production was graced by the presence of – among others – His Excellency François Lafrenière, Ambassador of Canada to Hungary, Dr. Illés Boglárka, State Secretary for Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Luis Melloni, Managing Director of Magna Body and Chassis Hungary Kft., Gauthier Lerouge, Vice President of Cosma Europe, Dr. Lajos Szűcs, Member of Parliament and Antonio Cesaria, Vice President of Operations of Cosma International.
