The harvest started in the country's southern counties. The early maturing winter barley is already harvested in the sandy areas – the president of the National Association of Grain Producers (GOSZ) told MTI on Monday.

Vancsura József added that the winter barley crop is expected to be around 4-5 tons per hectare, according to preliminary estimates. The farmers harvest winter barley on about 200 thousand hectares this year. (MTI)
