The harvest has begun

This year's harvest season has begun in Hungary with the harvest of winter barley. the experts expect a good average crop – Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) said on Thursday in Budapest.

After the meeting of the Harvest Coordination Committee Czerván György said that the winter wheat’s harvest area is 966 thousand hectares, 72 thousand hectares less than last year. The average yield per hectare will be 5 tons, according to preliminary estimates, the same as last year. Throughout the country about 4.8-4.9 million tons of winter wheat will be harvested. (MTI)
