In the first round, about 66 thousand farmers will receive an additional 8 billion forints in support, and the remaining amounts are being paid continuously. This brings the total payments to more than 90 billion forints, he added. The State Secretary said that this year, participants in the program, which encourages the use of environmentally and climate-conscious farming practices, will receive support for a total of more than 4.1 million hectares, at a rate of 62.9 euros per hectare. Based on the 2024 applications, the expected total support amount of the AÖP reaches HUF 94.8 billion and applies to nearly 68 thousand clients.
The timely progress ensured that the final payments could start smoothly
As a result of the final payment, tens of thousands of producers will receive the remaining part of the total support amount automatically after the completion of the audits, without submitting a separate application – highlighted József Viski. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Hungarian State Treasury remain committed to fast, accurate and transparent payments. The successful implementation of the AÖP will not only support farmers, but also serve the spread of sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices – emphasized the Secretary of State.
