Spring barley and sunflower sowing has started

Agricultural works started with full capacity in Vas county. The sowing of barley and sunflower has also begun – Lukács Zoltán, General for Agriculture inspector of theVas County Government Office told MTI on Monday.

Spring works are in a one month delay, due to the bad weather, the large amount of rain, and the inland flooding. Although sowing spring barley in April is relatively late but in 1980 similar circumstances occurred. In 1980, sowing was carried out in the second half of April and the yield was good, so farmers are confident and will continue to sow – he added. (MTI)
