The planting of tobacco has begun
This year, similar to 2011, the farmers will produce the industrial crops on an around 4,800 hectares – told the Chairman of the Pócspetri Based Hungarian National Association of Tobacco Producers to MTI on Monday.
Bényei Illés told that the tobacco-growing area gives work to more than twenty thousand people until the end of the season, and most of them, 16 thousand people lives in one of the highest unemployment region in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county. He added that in the Nyírség, which is one of the most disadvantaged are 4,000 hectares will be planted until the end of May.
