The payment of subsidies related to Natura 2000 grasslands begins
By the end of the month, farmers will receive funds worth about HUF 12.5 billion through support related to Natura 2000 grasslands – announced Zsolt Feldman, the State Secretary responsible for agriculture and rural development of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The state secretary reminded that the Hungarian government is committed to promoting the restoration, preservation and improvement of biological diversity, which it intends to achieve with the cooperation of active agricultural producers.
In our country, special land use regulations apply to areas of the Natura network with lawn utilization
Adherence to these means additional costs and, where applicable, loss of income for the farmers, for the compensation of which the affected parties could apply for support. After the damage caused by last year’s drought, any support for affected farmers is crucial.
Here’s what you need to know about the payout
In connection with the call for tenders entitled VP4-12.1.1-16 “Compensation payments for Natura 2000 agricultural areas”, farmers will receive support worth HUF 12.5 billion until the end of the month. More than 9,200 applications for compensation support were received, and the affected farmers receive normative, area-based, non-refundable support. Zsolt Feldman pointed out that it is possible to submit an application for support in 2023 within the framework of the unified application, which is also considered a request for payment.
