The TOP50 of tourism has been published: they shaped the sector in 2025
An exclusive TOP50 publication evaluating the performance of Hungarian tourism in 2025 has been published, presenting the work and impact of nearly 100 key professionals. The 160-page volume was presented to representatives of the profession on February 1st, at the 33rd Tourism Season Opening Gala.
The publisher of the professional news portal Turizmus.com published its publication titled “50 Important Players in Tourism & TOP10 Expats, Professional Associations, Mayors and Young People” for the 12th time this year. The volume provides a comprehensive picture of who shaped the operation and future of domestic tourism the most in 2025 with their decisions, professional performance and impact.
The top list includes managers of hotel chains, travel agencies, airlines, spas and attractions, renowned gastronomic players, event organizers, as well as businessmen and investors interested in the sector. The experts who speak not only report on their companies’ results for 2025, but also share their plans and expectations for this year.
This year, 15 experts are included in the TOP50 list of tourism for the first time, including István Akács (Pajta Restaurant), Tibor Birgés (Birgés Wellness Hotel Kft.), Zsófia Bocsák (Kartago Tours), Enikő Czegle-Pinczés (Hungarospa Hajdúszoboszlói Zrt.), Balázs Horváth (Weco-Travel), Árpád Kocsis (Budapest Sportiroda), Gusztáv Láving (Kisfaludy Tourism Credit Center) and István Nagy-Szász (CPI Hotels).
However, there are also five professionals who have been on the top list every time in the past twelve years: Imre Csordás (Accent Hotels), Tamás Flesch (Continental Group), Gábor Ganczer (Hungexpo), Judit Molnár (OTP Travel) and József Váradi (Wizz Air).
The TOP50 list was compiled based on the evaluations of the professional jury composed of the member organizations of the Hungarian Tourism Association Foundation and the editorial staff of Turizmus.com.
The 160-page publication actually presents the work of about 100 professionals in total, as in addition to the big guns of tourism, it introduces 10 expat professionals who are active and successful players in domestic tourism; 10 mayors who have successfully developed tourism in their settlements; and 10 promising young talents who were included in the compilation through the publisher’s public vote. In addition, the leaders of 10 professional organizations will also report on the lobbying efforts they achieved in 2025 and how these affected the sector as a whole.
