The development of the logistics and truck terminal in the north-western economic zone of Debrecen has reached a significant milestone: the public procurement notice for the construction works was published on Monday, Debreceni Ingatlanfejlesztő Kft. (Ding Kft.) told MTI.

In their announcement, they wrote that Ding. Kft. won the Connecting Europe Facility tender in June 2022 for the development of a safe and secure truck parking lot.

The aim of the project is to create a regional, concentrated, scale-efficient logistics and truck terminal that serves the BMW car factory, its suppliers, city and regional customers, the southern economic zone and the city’s smaller industrial parks – they indicated, noting that the implementation of the truck parking lot will largely relieve the city and its road network of logistics traffic from businesses.

They added that all three industrial parks in the city are easily accessible from the area via the M35 motorway within ten minutes. An intermodal rail terminal is located in the immediate vicinity of the truck terminal, and the new customs office will also relieve the city centre of truck traffic arriving for customs clearance.

The parking area will feature 196 ESPORG silver and 64 ESPORG gold certified protected and secure truck spaces, which represent an outstanding standard even at the European level. A separate area will be designated for vehicles transporting hazardous materials in the parking lot, and seven oil traps will be built to prevent oily pollution from entering nature with rainwater, they wrote.

According to the announcement, the comfort of arriving drivers will be ensured by, among other things, eight sanitary buildings, four rest buildings, three dining rooms and two reception buildings.

According to publicly available company data, Ding Kft. Its net sales revenue was 916 million forints last year, compared to 4.98 billion forints a year earlier. In 2024, the company’s after-tax profit was 864.4 million forints, compared to 1.7 billion forints in 2023.
