Boxy’s new solution, the outsourced depot service, has been launched
Boxy, a leading fulfillment service provider, introduced a new robotic depot service in December in response to the needs of its strategic partner, DPD Hungary. Thanks to robotic automation technology and industry-leading IT systems, the company enables extremely fast adaptation in serving the individual sorting needs of parcel logistics players.
Boxy’s service is a completely new and innovative solution, the first on the market to implement rapidly adaptable, outsourced, error-free parcel sorting thanks to robots, which allows for extreme flexibility in serving both acute and long-term parcel sorting needs.
Leading national parcel logistics companies typically operate with a central sorting plant (hub) and 20-25 depots located in different parts of the country. From the hub, backbone routes transport parcels destined for that area to the depots, and then a final sorting takes place in the depots for the specific delivery vehicles.
“Boxy’s new service is an effective opportunity that allows parcel logistics companies to use an instantly available, scalable service without any investment. The introduction of this gap-filling service is timely due to the general growth of e-commerce volumes, the rapid load changes caused by large foreign commercial players, and the constantly growing demand for flexible logistics services,” said András Táncsics, CEO of Boxy.
The depot service will be used first by Boxy’s strategic partner, the international parcel logistics service provider DPD. Boxy and DPD are thus expanding their agreement, under which one of Europe’s leading logistics service providers, Boxy, became the main parcel logistics partner in 2022. The aim of taking Boxy and DPD’s cooperation to the next level is to ensure fast, accurate and efficient delivery despite the constantly growing e-commerce needs. The joint work is expected to see millions of sorted packages depart from Boxy’s logistics center each year, significantly accelerating customer service. The majority of DPD delivery vehicles departing from here are electric, and are charged using chargers provided by Boxy.
“The integration of robotic technology not only helps address the challenges posed by e-commerce, but also makes delivery processes more reliable and cost-effective. Through the agreement with Boxy, we are introducing state-of-the-art solutions that will not only make our services faster, but also more reliable for our customers. In addition to the content of the service, the physical location of Boxy’s warehouse in Üllő behind Liszt Ferenc International Airport also played a major role in our choice, as the M4 motorway and the M0 motorway ensure that there is always the possibility of smooth delivery even in the event of possible traffic disruptions,”
said Szabolcs Czifrik, Managing Director of DPD.
Boxy introduced a depot service that is unique on the market, within the framework of which the company will now use modern robotic technology to carry out certain sorting tasks of the parcel logistics company.
“The new solution can benefit not only e-commerce players, but also end users, as faster and more accurate delivery of packages results in a more convenient customer experience,”
said Patrik Guóth, Marketing and Sales Director of Boxy.
Founded in 2021, Boxy Logisztikai Zrt. offers full-scale outsourced logistics solutions for domestic e-commerce players, including product warehousing, order fulfillment, packaging, and shipping solutions.
