Waberer’s Group appears on the road passenger transport market
Waberer’s Group is entering the road passenger transport market after reaching an agreement to acquire a 51 percent stake in PANNON-BUSZ-RENT Kft., the listed logistics company informed MTI on Tuesday.
According to the announcement, the 49 percent stake in PANNON-BUSZ-RENT is expected to remain with the founder, Zoltán Kölbl, for the next two years.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2025, subject to the fulfillment of the conditions specified in the purchase agreement and regulatory approval.
Founded in 2005, PANNON-BUSZ-RENT, with 170 vehicles, is a key player in the road passenger transport segment. In addition to operating employee bus services, train replacement buses and special bus services, the company’s partners include industrial and agricultural companies. The company achieved sales of HUF 4.4 billion and after-tax profit of over HUF 500 million in 2023.
Waberer’s management is constantly looking for further growth and diversification opportunities. By entering the passenger transport services market, the group can offer an even more complex service package, and the acquisition can increase the synergies between road freight transport and passenger transport fleet operation
– the announcement quoted Zsolt Barna, President and CEO of Waberer’s Group.
As the largest road service provider in the region, Waberer’s aims to ensure that quality and modern fleet management is the defining approach in passenger transport, which is ensured by the average three-year-old vehicle fleet – the announcement said.
