Production has begun in the Lábatlan-based plant of Forest-Papír Ltd.
In an investment supported from the New Széchenyi Plan, Forest-Papír Ltd. has set up a household hygienic paper processing plant in Lábatlan, from a budget of HUF 2.5 billion. The establishment was inaugurated by Minister of State for Infrastructure Pál Völner on 13 December 2013.
In the course of the project, the company built in an area of 6800 square metres altogether; construction was started last November. In addition to a bay of 2000 sqm, the company has a storage space of over 4300 sqm for its products. Through the development, the capacity of the company is to grow one and a half times from the current 20 thousand tons of rolls (toilet paper and kitchen rolls) per year. The new plant is to open up 20-40 new jobs in the region.
“Komárom-Esztergom County remains to be a priority target for investments; the unceasing interest is also reflected in the outstanding employment figures of the county. It is special added pleasure to celebrate a development that will increase the regional competitiveness of a Hungarian-owned company”, Pál Völner pointed out. The New Széchenyi Plan has contributed to the implementation of the employment creating investment by HUF 812 million, the Minister of State added.
Forest-Papír Ltd. has moved into an area earlier owned by Piszke Papír Ltd.. Thanks to the development, the old traditions of the local paper industry have been revived once again.

During the reconstruction, the unique roof structure of the building constructed in the 1970’s was treated and preserved as an industrial monument. The natural lighting of the bay has been designed in an environmentally friendly way, using lighting elements.
