Székely Sweets conquered Israel
Only in Tel Aviv, five shop operates that sell Kürtőskalács. Before the weekend on Fridays, customers regularly queuing up, to buy from the cake, that costs 22 to 25 shekels, about 1,400 forints.
The secret of success may be, that the Israelis like sweets – said Ofer Vardi, gastronomy journalist.
The Transylvanian candy was domesticated by Doron Regev in the Middle East country. Over the past three or four years, the bakeries selling Kürtőskalács became a whole network.
About twenty shops are operating under the name Kjortos, the Hungarian bakery – reports hirszerzo.hu.
