The Hungarian Competition Authority and the Greek Competition Authority have strengthened their cooperation

The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) and the Greek Competition Authority (HCC) have confirmed their cooperation, the agreement to this effect was signed at the Greek authority’s international professional conference celebrating its 30th anniversary in Athens – the GVH told MTI on Monday.

The announcement highlighted that the two organizations have had close cooperation for decades within the framework of the European Competition Network (ECN), which provides a basis for coordination and exchange of experience during procedures.

The aim of the agreement is to further strengthen the sharing of professional knowledge between the two competition authorities, as well as to facilitate the implementation of joint projects, the statement said.

Csaba Balázs Rigó, President of the GVH, emphasized in the statement that international professional cooperation is of paramount importance in addressing global challenges. The Greek Competition Authority has been their partner in this endeavor for a long time, and with this agreement, they have further strengthened their professional relationship.

According to the information, Csaba Balázs Rigó also participated in the panel discussion held in the opening section of the Greek Competition Authority’s international conference, and emphasized at the event that intense but fair market competition is the foundation of modern economies and one of the keys to competitiveness.

In the past 30 years, competition policy and competition law have undergone extraordinary development in the Central and Eastern European countries, which also provides the basis for the region’s competitiveness opportunities – he added.
