The 10 richest people in the world doubled their wealth during the pandemic
According to a report by the charity Oxfam, the wealth of the 10 richest people rose to 1,500 billion USD (476,000 billion HUF) due to soaring stock and real estate prices, further widening the gap between rich and poor. According to the World Bank, 163 million more people have been pushed below the poverty line since the start of the pandemic, while the super-rich have benefited from government stimulus subsidies to offset the effects of the pandemic.
