Interest in Nordic holidays has doubled
More and more people are choosing to escape the summer heat to the cool destinations of Northern Europe, where quiet surroundings and special experiences await travelers.
The “coolcation” trend, or the demand for a cool vacation, has doubled in recent years, said Szilvia Nagy, CEO of Vár a Világ travel agency. Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Iceland and Scotland offer an alternative to the Mediterranean regions hit by heat waves. The trend is also strengthened by the expanding range of low-cost flights and cruises. Those interested are looking for white nights, Viking traditions, special gastronomy and peaceful relaxation close to nature.
