The General Electric would double the number of suppliers from Central and Eastern Europe
By 2020, the General Electric (GE) wants to double the volume of products and services purchased from Central and Eastern European SMEs, including Hungarian businesses – piacesprofit.hu wrote. The company intends to achieve this by increasing its small and medium-sized supplier base.
The company has about 6,500 suppliers in the region and the value of purcahsings is over 1.7 billion USD, which can reach 3.4 billion USD by the end of the decade. GE is expanding it by increasing its small and medium-sized suppliers base by promoting the development of major suppliers to regional suppliers and by delivering its know-how and experience to partners in the use of digital manufacturing technologies, the company announced at a regional conference.
