Ikea broke a record
IKEA reached a record level of profits in the fiscal year ended on 31 August.
The Swedish furniture store chain announced on Tuesday, that the company’s after-tax profit became 3.3 billion euros (1,005 millionHUF), which is a 3.1 percent increase, compared to the previous 12 month. The turnover increased to 27.9 billion euros (8,500 million HUF) with the same proportion.
IKEA announced that they experienced a strong growth in China – where the company opened two new stores in the past two years, and opened a total of eleven stores in the last ten years, together with those two in Russia and in the United States.
The Swedish company currently has 305 department stores in 26 countries worldwide – including two in Hungary – and a total of 135 thousand employees. (MTI, tozsdeforum.hu)
