The special taxes may fail
According to experts; the taxation of the telekom sector is a clear violation of the EU laws, and problems may occur with the taxes imposed on the hypermarkets, because of the discrimination of the foreign firms. If the EU will veto the crisis taxes, the State should repay tens of billions.
The Hungarian government's former position was: the taxation belongs to national scope, so Brussels cannot intervene into those decisions. The government has also stressed that the affected companies can complain in vain about their losses to Brussels, they should take their part out of the defeating of the crisis – report Index.
