Potatoe prices are increasing unstoppable

From potatoes half of the amount has grown this year. According to the estimates of the National Association of Potato Marketing Board, domestic potatoes will run out of stocks in February 2013.

But price increases already starts this year. Contrary to last year’s 80-90 HUF per kilo price will be about 200 HUF per kilogram for Christmas Kecskés Gábor the association’s president said.

In Hungary, according to the estimates of the National Food Chain Safety Agency, 511 thousand tons of potatoes were harvested this year, 15 percent less than in the last year.  (by our colleague)
