Increased Exhibitor Demand confirms Leading Position of ProWein
Due to the further increase in exhibitor demand from all internationally relevant wine growing nations ProWein, the Leading Fair for the international Wine and Spirits Sector running from 4 to 6 March, will be opening an additional hall at Düsseldorf’s exhibition centre. Commenting on the move Hans Werner Reinhard, Deputy Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf, said: “This growing demand impressively underlines the leading position of ProWein: the international wine and spirits sector wishes to present a comprehensive overview because ProWein is the only fair to attract international decision-makers across retail worldwide.” The clear, tried and tested range structure according to country is be maintained. The central Tasting Zone will shift into the newly added Hall 7.1 located right next to the main North/Nord entrance. Furthermore, the organic wine segment which has seen steady growth over the past few years will now be featured here on a concentrated platform with sectoral associations and exhibitors focused on organic wines. Commenting on this Ralph Dejas, Managing Director at ECOVIN GmbH, said: “We are delighted at this strong joint presentation of organically produced wines. Ecological wines are playing an increasingly important role on the international wine scene. Visitors to ProWein can now gather comprehensive information at a glance on the innovations offered by this dynamic segment at its new location.”
With over 3,700 expected exhibitors ProWein 2012 will once again present a unique, comprehensive overview of the international wine and spirits market. Suppliers from some 50 nations, also including “exotic” wine nations, will be presented to the expected 40,000 specialists from throughout the world. Alongside the typically strong presentations from the likes of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria and Portugal the event – after introducing wines from Brazil, China, India and Japan – will now feature a premiere for wine from Kosovo. Other interesting newcomers include the renowned market leaders Fratelli Martini & Gancia from Italy as well as the Irish Food Board in the spirits section – to be featured at ProWein for the first time with their own stand. New World countries will also be comprehensively represented and the “Down2Earth” project featuring the wine nations/regions of Argentina, California, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa once again awaits visitors with numerous information events and tastings.
In addition to the variety of exhibitors the central Tasting Zone (organised in cooperation with publishing house Meininger Verlag) will once again form a special highlight at ProWein. In 2012 some 1,000 typical regional red, wine and rosé wines will be presented under the heading “Ursprungsweine – Wines of Origin”. This will be an opportunity to discover exciting, authentic wines from throughout the world that convey regional cultivation conditions and a distinct wine profile.
