Alimentaria&Horexpo Lisboa to have more international exhibitors and visitors
With just two months to go before Alimentaria&Horexpo Lisboa, the show releases additional details on the offerings to be presented at the new project, which brings together the food and drinks, distribution, hotel, restaurant and catering, and food technology sectors. The event will attract a significant number of international participants, who see the show as the best gateway to the Portuguese-speaking market. The trade show, to be held 27–30 March 2011, will occupy all four exhibition halls at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa venue – 45,000 m2 – and expects to include 800 companies and 30,000 professional visitors.
Alimentaria&Horexpo Lisboa plays its most international card on the supply side, with the presence of exhibitors from more than twenty different countries. The list is headed by Spain, followed by France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Bulgaria, Poland, Lithuania and Mexico, among others. A major new feature of the show is the addition of groups from Argentina, China, Korea, Thailand, Romania and Morocco, taking part in this endeavour for the first time. Highlights include the return of the group of exhibitors from Germany, which will once again be part of the show after a brief absence.
International buyers and access to the Portuguese market
After its success at Alimentaria Lisboa 2009, the Hosted Buyers programme will be reinforced at this edition with the primary aim of promoting the business environment by inviting buyers from the distribution sector throughout the world for scheduled business meetings with exhibitors at the show. The importance of these meetings is reflected in the fact that the organiser has tripled the budget for this programme in comparison with the previous edition of the event.
