In the framework of the call for tenders with the code number VP3-14.1.1-23, “Animal welfare support accompanying the restructuring of the dairy sector” announced on March 31, 2023, non-refundable support can be granted to dairy cattle farmers who, for the sake of animal welfare, go beyond the current regulations – undertake obligations defined in the call between May 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024.

This is how the application can be submitted

The primary condition for submitting a grant application is that the grant applicant has a client ID registered on request in the client registration system, and with this, they can submit their application on the electronic form-filling interface available on the website of the Hungarian State Treasury. Any agricultural producer who is registered as a keeper of animals in the registration systems and whose farms fully comply with the animal welfare regulations in force and the conditions detailed in the call can submit an application for support.

These regulations must be met

The call stipulates as mandatory regulations the reduction of animal density, increased control of animals, the retention of the obligation regarding milking technology and preventive interventions, and as optional regulations the provision of grazing, the provision of unrestricted and continuous access to water that meets the water needs of ruminants, and the feeding of excess hay. Depending on the obligations assumed, the level of support can reach up to HUF 284 per animal unit.
