Inflation is still above 5 percent
Consumer prices rose in June by 0.2 percent compared to the previous month and exceeded last year’s level by 5.3 percent – reports the Central Statistical Office (KSH). Analysts expected an annual inflation rate of around 5 percent.
In the first six month of this year, prices were an average 5.7 percent higher than in the same period of last year. Core inflation in June, did not changed, compared to the previous month. In a 12 month comparision, it was 3.5 percent. The 12 month consumer price index, calculated on retired people, was 4.7 percent, the monthly was 0.4 percent – reports Origo.
