H&M sales decreased
Hennes & Mauritz, a Swedish apparel retail chain, reported a decline in sales for October, with comparable units down by 2%, in spite of an increase in the number of operating stores.
For October, sales increased by 9% in local
currencies, including VAT. This compares to 15% increase in sales in
the same period last year. Comparable units, which include stores,
internet and catalogue sales countries, for the month declined by 2%,
compared to an increase of 3% in the prior year. Year-to-date sales
were up by 17%, compared to 11% increase in the year ago period.
Comparable units for the period was up 5%, compared to 2% increase in
the same period last year.
Number of stores during the period
amounted to 1,702, compared to 1,490 in the previous year same
period.
