You can still enter this year’s Brillante distillate competition
Entries for the Brillante – 2023 International Pálinka and Distilled Competition have started, the event has been a companion event of the Gyula Pálinka Festival for years.
This year, the competition is also looking for the best contract distillate, the most successful private brewer and contract distiller, as well as the most successful contract distillery. The best commercial brandy and the most successful commercial brew are also awarded.
This year, the fruit of the year is the cherry, and the best distillate made from it will be awarded separately – read on the website of the event.
In addition to the main prizes, category winners are also announced, and gold, silver, and bronze awards are also awarded.
Nominations can be made from anywhere, in recent years samples have arrived from Slovakia, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine and Israel. Last year, the competition received a record number of entries, 989 samples were submitted.
