Only 13 percent of the domestic SMEs are operating a webshop
Only 42 percent of the domestic small and medium-sized enterprises have internet sites. Only 13 percent of them are running a webshop. Since more than half of the domestic consumers inform from the world wide web before buying, these companies are cutting themselves out of the business – was said at the BarCamp conference in Budapest.
The benefits of the internet for the domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are improved market access and low cost. The customers at the same time are open to the Internet – Erdei Zsuzsa of Budapest Bank presented the results of the survey at the BarCamp Budapest 2012 conference. More than 90 percent of the internet users have ordered goods on the web. The customers mentioned that shopping is more convenient this way. Turnover increased at 48 percent of the stores that have a webshop. (Népszabadság Online)
