Even on the day after the opening, the crowd was huge in Primark’s first Hungarian store
The first Hungarian store of Primark, the Irish fast fashion brand, opened in Budapest on Tuesday, but long lines are expected even in the coming days. According to the Világgazdaság report, a huge crowd gathered even before the official opening, many of whom waited up to two hours to get in.
On the opening day, a significant number of customers persisted in the afternoon and in the minutes before closing in the evening, despite long lines snaking through the building. The cordons will remain on site until the end of the weekend, because according to the organizers, they expect a similar crowd in the first days as at the opening. According to a Facebook post from a local customer, despite the lines, they move relatively quickly.
Customers were especially looking for Disney and Bridgerton franchise products, although the latter is not yet available in stores in Hungary. However, there are also critical voices: several people complained about the quality. For example, one customer reported that the dress he bought had a paint defect, and although he bought it without trying it on, he had to discover the defect at home.
Another customer mentioned that her children’s clothes became fluffy and stretched out after one wash. Regarding the handling of such quality problems, it is not yet clear whether the Hungarian store will also implement the practice in Great Britain, that if the product is defective or dirty, the customer will receive a small discount.
