MasterCard: mobile payments and online shopping can increase sharply in Hungary

According to MasterCard a sudden growth can be expected in Hungary, thanks to the very widespread one-touch, so-called PayPass payments. On the field of online shopping the introduction of MasterCard 's new global platform, the Master Password can bring a change to the Hungarian customers .

The mobile phone purchases in Hungary increased by more than 50 percent, according to the datas of the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) from January 2010 to December 2013, surpassing 13 million.

According to the latest datas of the National Bank of Hungary, a total of about 90 thousand terminals can be found at 74 thousand domestic card acceptance points. 36 percent of these are suitable to the one-touch solution, while in Hungary almost two million one-touch payment credit cards are in circulation.
