MasterCard Europe: nearly two billion purchase transactions during the quarter
In the second quarter of 2010, MasterCard Europe’s reported turnover increased by 13.6 %. The number of credit card purchases increased by 13.2 %, while the number of cash pick ups increased by 12 %, compared with the second quarter of last year.
From the 1st of April to the 30th of June the European cardholders made more than 1.9 billion MasterCard purchase transactions, including Internet operations.
On a global level, the company reported a 31 percent profit expansion. The weaker U.S. sales growth was balanced by the improved international sales – reports Világgazdaság Online.
