Next-day delivery even during peak parcel traffic: this is how GLS is preparing for the end of the year

Taking into account the forecasts for December parcel volume, GLS Hungary has started seasonal preparations and operation optimization on time. By expanding sorting plant capacities, reorganizing its resources and fine-tuning its operational processes, the company has developed a flexible operation that allows for rapid intervention when necessary. Thanks to the continuous monitoring of the pick-up and delivery processes, GLS can even deploy additional couriers and domestic flights on the same day when traffic warrants it. This ensures that the one-working-day turnaround time typical of the entire year is maintained even during the busiest periods.

Packages can even arrive the next morning

In the run-up to the holidays, it becomes particularly important for customers that the ordered products arrive as quickly and predictably as possible, and online stores are looking for solutions that can reliably meet this increasing demand. The GLS Automata Express, introduced this summer, supports this need: packages handed over by webshops on the day of the order are delivered the next morning to more than 500 GLS Automata marked with express. This speed is particularly valuable for both retailers and customers during the holiday rush and contributes to the smooth collection of packages even during the busiest time of the year.

Last delivery days

GLS maintains its usual one-working-day delivery time even during the December peak period. Thanks to this, packages sent on December 22 will arrive at the recipients on December 23.

Flexible collection options

In addition to home delivery, there are approximately 2,600 GLS Automatas and more than 1,000 GLS CsomagPonts available in more than 750 settlements across the country, ensuring that everyone can find the most suitable collection method for them. The vast majority of the machines are available 24 hours a day, so recipients can conveniently access their packages even in the early morning or late evening. GLS, like the rest of the year, will continue to store parcels waiting for collection in the parcel locker for 7 calendar days.

Reinforced customer service capacity

The company will support its customers with reinforced customer service capacity between November 29 and December 21 with technical issues related to parcel lockers. Customer service is also available on weekends between 8:00 and 16:00 during this period by calling +36 (29) 88 66 70, under point 6 of the GLS telephone menu system.
