One and a half billion HUF to refine a new potato variety
The Nyíregyháza-based Research Institute of the University of Debrecen and the Dr. Sárvári és Csendes Agrárgazdálkodó és Fejlesztő Kft. (Dr. Sárvári és Csendes Agricultural Development Co Ltd.) can spend nearly 1.5 billion HUF to develop a new multidrug-resistant potato variety – the company responsible for the communications of the project told MTI on Wednesday.
The experts of the company dealing with potato research and the staff of the institute will create a resistant potato variety during the research project, which can be grown for more than a decade at agricultural areas that suffer from extreme weather conditions.
The institute and the firm won the development amount on the tender of the Research and Technology Innovation Fund. (MTI)
