Markit survey: economic activity growth slowed in the euro area in August
Compared to July, economic activity slowed in August in the euro area, according to a survey carried among purchasing managers by the IHS Markit economic research institute in London.
According to preliminary data from Markit’s August survey, composite PMI, formed by aggregating manufacturing and service industry data, fell to a two-month low of 59.5 points from 60.2 points in July, which was a two-decade high. Analysts expected a less deteriorating indicator, 59.7 points. (MTI)
