Marketing in Italian style: Olive oil and wine from the Riviera
Hungarian, Czech, Polish, Danish and English buyers, and journalists from each country were invited by the chamber of commerce of Imperia province to the city of Imperia to the new olive oil feast.
The region's 22 producers presented their products to the invited 13 businessmen.
Thanks to the pleasant climate of the region, with an annual 280 sunny days, the producers want to appear with high quality olive oils and wines.
There is a demand among a part of Hungarian consumers for relatively small amount produced olive oil and wines that are controlled by the owners. Similarly, the pesto, oliva creme, ham, salami and some other specialties can be also included to some Hungarian stores – said Gáti Anna, member of Delifood International Ltd., dealing with Italian food imports.
The three-day celebration of the new olive oil started on Friday in sunshine, with a lot of music. 161 small and large firms of the region sold various dishes on the streets of the downtown. Thousands of local and areal residents enjoyed the good weather and new harvest festival.
A Saturday accompanying program can also be mentioned; a conference where representatives of the major olive producing countries reviewed the international trade development opportunities of olive oil – reports Trade Magazine’s correspondent, Bajai Ernő from Imperia.
