Balázs Győrffy, president of the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told at the campaign launch press conference: Hungarians eat 2-2.5kg of beef a year, which is only one third of the quantity recommended by doctors. The campaign’s goal is to get closer the European Union’s average of 6-8kg per capita annual beef consumption. Last year 106,000 cattle were slaughtered in Hungary, 2.5 percent less than in 2016. NAK’s campaign aims at teaching consumers about the many ways beef can be used in the kitchen. //
