Retail sales in the EU and in the euro area increased in March
A turn took place in the euro area retail trade in March: the volume of turnover increased by 0.3 percent, compared to the previous month, when the decline was 0.2 percent – shows the datas of Eurostat.
By taking all 27 member states into account, turnover growth was 0.7 percent in March, while the decline was 0.5 percent in February.
According to the statistics, the sales of food, beverages, tobacco products remained virtually unchanged in March compared with the previous month, while the sales of the non-food products increased by 0.1 and 0.6 percent in the euro area and in the EU. (MTI-Eco)
