In March, retail sales in the euro area declined more than expected
Compared with the previous month, retail sales in the euro area fell more than expected in March and grew less than expected on an annual basis, according to a report by Eurostat on Wednesday.
Compared to the previous month, retail sales in Hungary achieved the third largest increase in the EU and the fourth largest year-on-year.

Poor retail data came from the eurozone
In March, seasonally adjusted retail sales fell by 0.4 percent month-on-month in the euro area and by 0.2 per cent in the European Union. Analysts expected a 0.1 percent monthly decline in the eurozone in March.
In February, monthly growth was 0.4 percent in the euro area and 0.3 percent in the EU. (MTI)
