3.7 per cent price increase in March
According data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), consumer prices were 3.7 percent higher in March 2019 than in March 2018. Food prices jumped 5.4 percent. Seasonal product prices (potatoes, fresh fruits and vegetables) grew by 21.1 percent. Flour’s price augmented by 12.3 percent, but the price of eggs dropped 12.5 percent. Alcoholic drink and tobacco product prices grew by 8 percent. We had to pay 3 percent more for services. The price of motor fuels became 3.7 percent higher. //
