In March, inflation remained at 2 percent in the Czech Republic
In March, annual inflation in the Czech Republic remained at 2 percent in February, the Czech Statistical Office announced on Wednesday in Prague.
In a monthly comparison, prices rose by 0.1 percent, mainly due to the increase in the price of road stickers and fuel. The price of road stickers increased by 53 percent at the beginning of March, for example, the annual sticker now costs 2,300 kroner instead of the previous 1,500 kroner.
Manufactured goods rose in price by 0.1 percent, services by 5.4 percent, while the prices of food and soft drinks fell. For these, the price drop is about 6 percent – pointed out Pavla Sedivá, director of the statistical office.
Meat prices fell by 16.4 percent and milk prices by 26.6 percent compared to last March. Egg prices are 28 percent lower than a year ago.
