According to the relevant regulation*, livestock farmers have the opportunity to reconcile ENAR data until March 31 this year. What is new is that in addition to cattle, sheep and goat and pigs, data reconciliation is also mandatory for poultry this year for the first time. Keeping data up-to-date is of paramount importance for those submitting animal-based support applications.

The aim of the data reconciliation program is to ensure that ENAR (Uniform Registration and Identification System), BIR (Poultry Information System) and TIR (Livestock Information System) contain accurate data. An up-to-date database significantly assists both the activities of farmers and the work of the food chain safety authority. Accurate data is particularly important for livestock keepers applying for animal-based support at the Hungarian State Treasury. The Treasury interface is populated with data registered in the ENAR system.

A detailed description of the data reconciliation process is available on the Nébih ENAR subpage

As the first step in the process, Nébih sends cattle, sheep and goat keepers a list of animals currently registered in ENAR to its electronic storage or by post to the farm address, while it provides pig keepers and poultry keepers with animal movement and breeding animal registration data from the BIR system. The keeper is responsible for comparing the data in the system with the identifiers of the animals actually found in his farm. Only discrepancies need to be reported to the office; those who have no pending notifications have no further action to take.
