We already know which is your favorite donut!
The carnival season cannot pass without doughnuts, and we Hungarians love the traditional, home-baked ribbon donut filled with apricots the most. – at least this is what was revealed in the latest research by Real, in which nearly 1,400 adults were asked about what kind of donut they like best.
66% of the respondents like the classic carnival ribbon donut the most, the American donut won the silver medal – well behind – with 13% of the votes, while the crispy bell donut came in third place. In the research, the names of our mouse brush, our representative tree, our Ekler donut, and our curd tree also came up, but only one or two people named them as absolute favorites. Of course, the American donut can only be enjoyed with frosting, but the chocolate version is twice as popular as the vanilla one. Only a tenth of ribbon donut fans said that they prefer to eat donuts plain, the overwhelming majority like to fill the carnival sweets with some kind of delicious jam. In terms of flavors, we are absolute followers of tradition, 80% of people choose apricot jams, which is ahead of strawberry jam. However, almost everyone agreed on one thing: home-made donuts have no equal! Two-thirds of those surveyed prefer homemade doughnuts, while one-third – American donut fans, of course – prefer the store-bought version.
