Concentration decreasing in sales of ice tea
Retail sales of ice tea were up by 3 percent in the April 2008-March 2009 period, exceeding HUF 14 billion, while sales in terms of quantity were down by 4 percent. The market share of lemon and peach flavours dropped slightly, but these still accounted for 83 percent of total sales. Concentration of sales stopped, with the market share of 2,500+ square meter stores dropping by 2 percent (to 31). The respective market shares of the 401-2,500 and 201-400 square meter segments both rose by 1 percent. Average price was up by HUF 14 compared to 2008. The market share of 1.5 litre size units rose to 79 percent in terms of quantity, while that of the 3 litre size dropped.
