Applications for the 2026 Hungarikum applications are now open

Apply for electronic and printed publications, photo series, films, as well as for creating a new website, maintaining and developing an existing website, and organizing events. A budget of 550 million forints is available for this. Also as part of this pillar, funds can be requested for the inclusion of symbols characteristic of the settlement in the image of the settlement, its use, and its visibility.

The II. In the target area, a budget of 78 million forints was given to organize competitions with the participation of upper and secondary school students, in order to strengthen the students’ sense of identity and promote the preservation of traditions.

It is important that the traditional clothing culture and folk craft values ​​of the Carpathian Basin become part of our holidays and everyday life by preserving, promoting and applying them, and that wearable collections are created. 22 million forints are available for these efforts in the III. target area.

It is worth knowing that one-time, non-refundable support that does not qualify as operating support can be applied for in all target areas. The intensity of the support is 100 percent, meaning that there is no need to provide a co-payment. Another important piece of information is that the order in which applications are submitted does not matter. You can register on the application platform, fill out the application forms and upload attachments from 12:00 on December 16, 2025. Applications can be finalized from 10:00 on January 15, 2026. It is important to note that if the funding requirement of the already finalized applications reaches 150 percent of the budget for the given target area, the application platform will automatically close at 2:00 p.m. on the opening day (January 15, 2026) at the earliest, and it will not be possible to finalize or submit further applications.
