People drink less Coke
Coca-Cola's profits increased by only 1 percent in the third quarter. The world's largest soft drinks manufacturer performed below the expectations of the analysts, after the consumers decreased their purchases because of the crisis.
The Coca Cola Company achieved a 1.92 billion USD revenue in the third quarter; this is 81 cents per share. The turnover decreased to 8.04 billion USD from 8.39 billion USD – reports AP.
The analysts previously expected 8.11 billion USD turnover from the company. According to the statement of Coca-Cola; the crisis resulted in a decrease of the consumption of soft drinks: carbonated drinks, while a 5 percent decrease was occured in the United States, non-carbonated beverages and tea sales have remained unchanged – reports világgazdaság.hu.
