The Hungarian Pavilion is already being prepared for the Osaka World Expo
The Osaka World Expo is one of the world’s most significant cultural, touristic and economically influential events, therefore Hungary’s participation in the Expo is in the national economic interest – said Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy at a press conference presenting the architectural, creative and artistic concept of the Hungarian Pavilion being prepared for the exhibition on Monday in Budapest.

The minister emphasized that tourism has been one of the engines of Hungarian economic growth so far, accounting for almost 13 percent of GDP last year. Hungary’s presentation in the East Asian region is also important because last year, compared to 2023, visitor traffic from China increased by about twofold, while South Korea and Japan increased by 8 percent and 44 percent respectively.
Almost 160 countries will participate in the six-month expo, to which the organizers expect more than 28 million visitors – added Márton Nagy.
The exhibition also provides a good opportunity to present Hungary as an investment destination, in addition to tourism aspects, not only to Japan, but also to economic actors in the entire region – Márton Nagy emphasized.
