Coffee prices are increasing on the Hungarian market
The world market coffee prices are on the lowest levels of the past two years, due to favorable harvest prospects in Brazil, but due to the supply that is lagging behind the demand, a price increase may come in long terms. In Hungary, one had to pay more for coffee in January 2016 than in the second half of 2015 – the Conclude Befektetési Zrt. dealing with commodity investments told MTI.
Globally, 152.1 million bags of coffee was sold in 2015, nearly 2 million more, compared to the previous year. However, the supply of 143.3 million bags was lower than the demand, while exports reached only 36 million bags – Juhász Gergely CEO of the Conclude Befektetési Zrt. presented the International International Coffee Organization’s estimate.
